The Night Wolf V.League 1- 2023/2024 will resume this weekend after a two-week hiatus to accommodate the Vietnam national team’s participation in the second round of the World Cup 2026 qualifiers in the Asian region. Among the exciting matches scheduled, three will feature the use of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) technology, according to an announcement by the organizers.
One of the most anticipated clashes is the showdown between Hanoi FC and Hanoi Police FC at Hang Day Stadium. Currently, Hanoi FC is in excellent form, boasting a five-match unbeaten streak, including four consecutive victories. In stark contrast, the reigning champions Hanoi Police FC are struggling, having suffered multiple defeats that have seen them concede the championship race to Nam Dinh. This poor run of form has also dropped them to the eighth position on the league table.
The organizers have confirmed that the match between Hanoi FC and CAHN will be one of the three fixtures utilizing VAR technology. In addition to this high-profile game, VAR will also be employed in the matches between Song Lam Nghe An and Thanh Hoa, as well as Ha Tinh and The Cong Viettel.
The inclusion of VAR in the SLNA vs. Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh vs. The Cong Viettel matches is particularly noteworthy as both SLNA and Ha Tinh are battling to avoid the play-off spots. The technology’s implementation in these critical matches underscores its importance in ensuring fair play and accurate decision-making.
The return of V.League 1- 2023/2024 with VAR in select matches promises to enhance the integrity and excitement of the competition, providing fans and teams with a fairer and more transparent match experience.
