Hohhot, 28 May, 2025 – U16 Vietnam could not cause an upset against U16 Australia, losing 1-2 in their opening match of the 2025 CFA Team China International U16 Tournament.
Despite being considered the underdogs, U16 Vietnam entered the game with confidence and created a balanced match against U16 Australia in the opening game of the 2025 CFA Team China International U16 Tournament in Inner Mongolia, China.
After enduring pressure, the red-shirted team unexpectedly took the lead in injury time of the first half with a goal from Le Trong Dai Nhan.
In the second half, the Australian team pushed forward to equalize and applied continuous pressure. Despite U16 Vietnam’s strong defense, they allowed Pavlovic to score the equalizer in the 81st minute, before Owusu netted the decisive goal just two minutes later. In the end, U16 Vietnam lost 1-2.
In two days, Coach Cristiano Roland’s team will face the host team, U16 China, at 18:35 (May 30).
