Gia Lai, 12 June, 2025 – As the 2024/2025 season draws to a close, midfielder Chau Ngoc Quang is expected to part ways with Hoang Anh Gia Lai and take on a new challenge in his career. According to multiple sources, the Quang Nam-born player is close to finalizing a move to newly promoted V.League side Phu Dong Ninh Binh. The reported deal includes a two-year contract and a substantial signing bonus of up to 12 billion VND.
Ngoc Quang is among the last remaining members of the first and second generations of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai JMG Academy. This season, the 28-year-old has been one of the standout performers for Hoang Anh Gia Lai, making 21 appearances, scoring four goals, and providing four assists in the 2024/2025 V.League campaign. His consistent form also earned him regular call-ups to the Vietnam national team under head coach Kim Sang Sik.
Looking ahead, Hoang Anh Gia Lai may face another wave of player departures as club owner Doan Nguyen Duc (Bau Duc) is reportedly open to allowing several stars to leave in search of new challenges. This approach also paves the way for young talents from the club’s academy to step up, including promising names like Tran Gia Bao, Minh Tam, Hoang Minh Tien, Cao Hoang Minh, and Dinh Quang Kiet.
Chau Ngoc Quang’s potential move marks a significant addition for Phu Dong Ninh Binh as they aim to make a strong impression in their debut V.League season. Meanwhile, Hoang Anh Gia Lai prepares for a transitional phase focused on youth development and long-term restructuring.
