Hanoi, 30 June, 2025 – Vietnam U20 women’s national football team will hold a training camp from July 1 to August 11 in preparation for the second round of qualifiers for the 2026 AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup, which also serves as a pathway to the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
Vietnam will host Group B of the qualification round, with matches scheduled to take place in early August at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center in Hanoi. Group B features Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Hong Kong (China), and Singapore.
Among the opponents, U20 Kyrgyzstan is considered a “mystery team” as little is known about their current form or strength, posing an unpredictable challenge for coach Akira Ijiri’s squad.

According to the tournament format, the top team in each group and the three best second-placed teams will advance to the final tournament alongside host nation Thailand. In total, 12 teams will compete in the 2026 AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup finals, which will be held from April 1 to 18, 2026.
Notably, the final tournament will also serve as the Asian qualification for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup. A strong performance in April could see Vietnam make its historic debut at the world stage for this age group.
The upcoming training camp will be crucial for the coaching staff to assess player fitness, finalize tactics, and build chemistry among the squad as Vietnam aims to secure a spot among Asia’s top 12 teams and chase a dream ticket to the World Cup.
