
Vinh Phuc, 1st July, 2025 – The group stage of the 2025 VTV Cup International Women’s Volleyball Tournament concluded on July 1 at the Vinh Phuc Gymnasium, officially determining the four quarterfinal matchups.
In the highly anticipated clash for the top spot in Group B, reigning champions Korabelka (Russia) faced a resilient Taiwan team in a thrilling back-and-forth battle. Displaying composure and strength in crucial moments, Korabelka secured a 3-1 victory with set scores of 30-28, 24-26, 25-22, and 25-17.
The result saw Korabelka finish atop Group B with three consecutive wins and 8 points. Taiwan ranked second with 6 points, U21 Thailand placed third with 4 points, and U21 Vietnam ended bottom without any wins.
In Group A, the Philippines continued their impressive run, defeating Sichuan (China) and then sweeping Australia 3-0 to advance to the quarterfinals as group runners-up. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s national team, fielding a rotated squad, still dominated Sichuan 3-0 in their final group match. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet’s side completed the group stage with a perfect record of 3 wins and 9 points, securing the top spot. Sichuan (3 points) finished third, while Australia failed to earn any points and finished last.
With the group stage concluded, the 2025 VTV Cup now heads into the quarterfinals on July 3. The matchups are as follows:

Quarterfinal 1: Vietnam (1st Group A) vs U21 Vietnam (4th Group B)

Among the four quarterfinal matchups, two are considered one-sided: Vietnam vs U21 Vietnam, and Korabelka vs Australia. Barring any major upsets, both Vietnam and Korabelka are expected to progress to the semifinals with relative ease.
The remaining two quarterfinals—Taiwan vs Sichuan and Philippines vs U21 Thailand—are projected to be tightly contested, with both matchups promising high intensity and competitive play as the teams battle for a semifinal spot.
