Ho Chi Minh, 2 July, 2025 – After a disappointing 2024/2025 campaign, Binh Duong have officially announced their decision to part ways with Ivorian forward Timite Cheick as part of a post-season squad overhaul.
At the V.League level, Binh Duong only managed to finish seventh on the table with 32 points, falling short of expectations. Their journey in the National Cup also ended in disappointment, as they were eliminated in the semifinals by Song Lam Nghe An.
In a statement released by the club, Binh Duong expressed gratitude to the striker for his professionalism and commitment during his short stint with the team. “Binh Duong would like to thank striker Timite Cheick Aymar for his contributions to the club. Throughout his time with us, Timite maintained a serious attitude in training, blended well with the squad, and showed professionalism in his daily routines.”
“Although the journey was not long, we sincerely acknowledge your efforts in the purple jersey. We wish you the best of luck in finding a new team and hope you achieve success in your playing career,” the club added.
Timite Cheick joined Binh Duong in the second phase of the 2024/2025 season. However, in 9 appearances, the 1997-born striker failed to score or register any assists. Given his limited impact on the pitch, the club decided not to extend his stay.
The departure of Timite Cheick marks the beginning of Binh Duong’s squad reshuffle ahead of the 2025/2026 season as the club seeks to rebuild and aim for a stronger performance in both domestic competitions.
