Jakarta, 26 July, 2025 – On July 26, U23 Vietnam held a recovery training session in the hotel gym to regain optimal physical condition before facing hosts U23 Indonesia in the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025 final.
The coaching staff allocated the entire morning for the players to rest and relax after the intense semifinal. In the afternoon, head coach Kim Sang-sik and fitness expert Cedric Roger conducted a tailored workout session. The program was divided into groups, with the starting players from the semifinal performing stretching, recovery, and light conditioning exercises, while the substitutes and non-starters engaged in strength and muscle-building routines.
According to the team’s medical department, there were no serious injury concerns following the semifinal. Forward Nguyen Quoc Viet experienced slight discomfort after a collision but is expected to be fit for the final. With the squad in good health, Kim Sang-sik will have a full roster available for the crucial clash.
The team is scheduled to return to the training ground on July 27 to fine-tune tactics and finalize preparations for the final showdown against U23 Indonesia. The match will kick off at 20:00 on July 29 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.
This will be the third consecutive ASEAN U23 Championship final for U23 Vietnam, following back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023. With thorough preparation and strong confidence, the team is determined to defend their crown and continue their dominance in the region.
