Da Nang, 2 August, 2025 – After Quang Nam officially withdrew from V.League 1 – 2025/2026 following the registration deadline on August 1, the organizing committee had to select a replacement team from the V.League 2 standings.
Initially, Dong Nai (formerly Binh Phuoc), the runners-up of last season, were given priority to move up.
However, Dong Nai declined the promotion opportunity, citing insufficient time to prepare for the upcoming season. This opened the door for PVF-CAND, who had originally hesitated to take the vacant spot. According to VPF representatives, PVF-CAND has now agreed to step up and compete in Vietnam’s top-tier league, filling Quang Nam’s position.
This decision means the V.League 1 – 2025/2026 fixture schedule will remain unchanged, as PVF-CAND will directly assume Quang Nam’s slot. Nevertheless, the newly promoted club faces a race against time to strengthen their squad and finalize preparations for the challenging season ahead.
Comprising primarily homegrown talents from their youth academy, PVF-CAND has shown strong determination in recent years to earn a place in the top division. Their debut match in V.League 2025/2026 will be at home against Song Lam Nghe An, marking the beginning of a historic campaign for the young team.
