Kayleigh Truong joins Ulaanbaatar Amazons

Ulaanbaatar, 18 September, 2025 –  Vietnamese-American guard Kayleigh Truong has officially signed with Ulaanbaatar Amazons, marking a new chapter in her basketball journey after an impressive collegiate career in the United States. The former NCAA standout is expected to be a key figure as the Mongolian club prepares for both domestic competitions and the upcoming Women’s Basketball League (WBL) Asia campaign in September.

Kayleigh, who developed her skills and basketball IQ while playing for Gonzaga University in the NCAA, is widely known for her sharp vision, playmaking ability, and relentless determination. Her experience competing at a high level in the United States has shaped her into a versatile guard capable of leading an offense and setting the tone defensively. The Amazons believe she will bring fresh energy and leadership to the team as they seek to make an impact on the regional stage.

With her signing, Ulaanbaatar Amazons are signaling their ambition to compete seriously in both Mongolia’s domestic league and international tournaments. Kayleigh’s arrival comes at a crucial time as the team aims to raise its profile and compete against top clubs across Asia. Her ability to control the tempo of the game, find open teammates, and score in key moments makes her an ideal fit for the Amazons’ fast-paced, disciplined style of play.

Kayleigh has already joined the team’s training sessions and will make her first appearance with Ulaanbaatar Amazons at a short-term basketball tournament in Sichuan, China. This event will serve as a warm-up before the club begins its WBL Asia campaign in September, where they will face some of the strongest women’s basketball teams in the region.

This move also carries special significance for Vietnamese basketball fans. Kayleigh and her twin sister, Kaylynne Truong, have become role models for young players of Vietnamese heritage, showing that it is possible to compete at elite levels while proudly embracing their roots. Her move to Asia provides more opportunities for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian fans to follow her journey closely and could inspire more cross-regional basketball collaborations in the future.

As Ulaanbaatar Amazons prepare for an intense season ahead, all eyes will be on Kayleigh Truong to see how her leadership and skills translate on the Asian stage. With her determination and experience, she is expected not only to boost the Amazons’ competitiveness but also to help grow the visibility of women’s basketball in Mongolia and across the region.
