U17 Hanoi edge Nam Dinh to claim 2025 national championship title

Ho Chi Minh City, 26 September, 2025 – The final of the National U17 Championship 2025 delivered a thrilling contest on the afternoon of September 26 at Ba Ria Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, where U17 Hanoi defeated U17 Nam Dinh 3-2 to be crowned champions.

From the opening whistle, U17 Hanoi asserted dominance by pushing high up the pitch, controlling possession, and pressing their opponents deep into their own half. Nam Dinh, meanwhile, deployed a disciplined defensive structure, patiently waiting for chances to counterattack.

Their strategy paid off early. In the 19th minute, Nam Dinh produced a rare but clinical attacking move. Duc Anh showcased composure and skill just outside the penalty area before unleashing a low strike into the corner, leaving Hanoi’s goalkeeper with no chance and putting Nam Dinh ahead 1-0.

The goal galvanized Hanoi, who intensified their attacks in search of an equalizer. Their persistence bore fruit in the 32nd minute. Inside the penalty box, Minh Duc’s deft footwork forced Hoang Phuc of Nam Dinh into a foul, prompting the referee to point to the spot. Captain Manh Quan stepped up confidently, converting the penalty to level the score at 1-1.

Riding the momentum, Hanoi continued to apply relentless pressure and were rewarded again in first-half stoppage time. In the 45+2 minute, Nam Dinh’s defense failed to clear the ball decisively, and it fell to Gia Huy. With a sharp first touch and a thunderous strike, the midfielder fired into the net to give Hanoi a 2-1 lead at the break.

Nam Dinh came out for the second half with renewed determination and struck quickly. Just three minutes after the restart, in the 48th minute, Hong Anh timed his run perfectly to latch onto a long pass, breaking through the defense and calmly slotting past the goalkeeper to make it 2-2.

However, Hanoi wasted little time in restoring their advantage. In the 56th minute, a scramble inside Nam Dinh’s box saw the ball land at the feet of Manh Quan, who reacted quickest to fire home from close range. His second goal of the match restored Hanoi’s lead at 3-2.

From there, Hanoi managed the tempo smartly, focusing on defensive solidity to protect their slim lead. Nam Dinh pushed forward in search of another equalizer, but their attacking moves lacked the sharpness needed to break down Hanoi’s well-organized backline.

After 90 minutes of drama, U17 Hanoi emerged victorious with a 3-2 triumph, sealing the National U17 Championship 2025 crown. The win highlighted the capital club’s resilience and attacking depth, while Nam Dinh’s spirited performance ensured the final will be remembered as one of the most exciting in recent years.
