
Bangkok, 8 october 2025 – On October 8 in Bangkok, Thailand, the Southeast Asia Esports Federation (SEAEF) was officially established with the participation of 11 member countries from the region. During its first term (2025–2029), the federation elected Do Viet Hung, President of the Vietnam Recreational and Electronic Sports Association (VIRESA), as its inaugural president.
Aiming to strengthen cooperation, promote development, and fully unlock the potential of esports in Southeast Asia, representatives from 11 member nations convened to form the SEAEF Executive Board for the 2025–2029 term. With extensive experience in esports management and strategic planning, Mr. Do Viet Hung, who also serves as Vice President of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) representing Southeast Asia, received unanimous support to assume the presidency.
The positions of Vice President and Executive Board members were assigned to Ng Chong Geng (Singapore), Muhammad Naim Al Amin Bin Saharudin (Malaysia), Brian Lim (Philippines), and Camacho Ramos de Silva Pinto (Timor-Leste).
As a regional hub connecting key stakeholders in the esports ecosystem—including publishers, tournament organizers, training centers, and educational institutions—SEAEF aims to build a sustainable foundation for grassroots esports, foster professional tournaments, and establish clear pathways for Southeast Asian athletes to compete on the global stage.
“SEAEF is built on the spirit of unity. By combining our strengths and working together, we can create a sustainable ecosystem that supports athletes, strengthens national federations, and elevates Southeast Asian esports to the world stage,” emphasized President Do Viet Hung.
During its first term, the Executive Board will focus on establishing operational frameworks, promoting cooperation among member nations, and developing synchronized strategies to ensure that esports becomes a sustainable and highly professional sector across the region.
