Hanoi, 21 December 2025 – The ASEAN Football Federation has confirmed that the official draw for the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 will take place on January 15, 2026 in Jakarta, marking the first key milestone for the regional tournament’s landmark 30th anniversary edition.
According to an announcement from the ASEAN Football Federation, the official draw ceremony for the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The tournament, widely regarded as the most prestigious competition for Southeast Asian national teams, will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year under its new title sponsor, Hyundai.
The ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 will feature 11 national teams competing for the title of Southeast Asian champion, with the tournament scheduled to run from July 24 to August 26, 2026. This edition follows the hugely successful 2024 tournament, which concluded with Vietnam national football team lifting the regional crown after a dramatic 5–3 aggregate victory over Thailand national football team in the final. That edition set new benchmarks for audience engagement, attracting more than 541 million viewers across television and digital streaming platforms, while content related to the tournament generated nearly 13 billion views across social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X.
At the official draw for the 2026 edition, nine teams — Cambodia national football team, Indonesia national football team, Laos national football team, Malaysia national football team, Myanmar national football team, Philippines national football team, Singapore national football team, Thailand national football team, and Vietnam national football team — will be drawn into two groups for the group stage.
The final slot at the tournament will be decided through a qualifying play-off between Brunei Darussalam national football team and Timor-Leste national football team. This play-off will also determine which team will host the home and away legs of the tie.
The official draw ceremony for the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 will be broadcast live, with the list of television and digital broadcasters to be announced by the organizers at a later date.
