Hanoi, 17 March 2026 – Midfielder Hoang Hen has been called up to the Vietnam national team ahead of their upcoming fixtures against Bangladesh in an international friendly and Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
According to the latest announcement from Hanoi FC, Hoang Hen received his first-ever national team call-up as Vietnam prepare for the March FIFA Days. The 1994-born midfielder is expected to form a strong attacking partnership with Xuan Son, adding more firepower to the squad.

Previously, in a media interview, coach Vu Hong Viet—who has worked with both Xuan Son and Hoang Hen—highlighted their impact: “Everyone can see that having Xuan Son alone already improves the team significantly. If Hoang Hen is added, I believe the team will become even stronger.”
“Hoang Hen and Son have excellent chemistry. They understand each other so well that it feels like they don’t even need to look to know each other’s movements or passing intentions. This will be a very high-quality addition for the national team,” he added.
Hoang Hen is currently in impressive form for Hanoi FC, while Xuan Son has been regaining his rhythm after recovering from injury. According to the schedule, Vietnam will face Bangladesh on March 26 and Malaysia on March 31.
