Hanoi, 20 April 2026 – Members of the Vietnam Sports Delegation have officially departed for China to compete at the 2026 Asian Beach Games.
On the morning of April 20, the delegation traveled to China, marking the start of their campaign at the continental event. The delegation is led by Le Thanh Ha, Deputy Head of High-Performance Sports at the Vietnam Sports Authority, along with officials and athletes from several national teams.
Upon arrival, the delegation will stay at the Athletes’ Village as arranged by the organizing committee. During the confirmation meeting held on April 17, participating countries, including Vietnam, finalized their athlete registrations for all events.
Vietnam aims to win gold medals at this edition of the Games. The team will compete in eight sports: beach handball, jujitsu, wrestling, traditional boat racing, swimming, athletics, sailing, and teqball. In total, Vietnam has registered 54 athletes competing in 26 events.
The 2026 Asian Beach Games will officially take place from April 22 to April 30, with the opening ceremony scheduled for the evening of April 22. Host nation China will organize 63 medal events across 14 sports (15 disciplines), including 3×3 basketball, open water swimming, water polo, aquathlon, beach athletics, beach handball, beach kabaddi, beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach wrestling, traditional boat racing, jujitsu, sailing, sport climbing, and teqball.
According to the schedule, beach handball will be the first sport to begin competition on April 21 and will also conclude the Games on April 30 with the men’s and women’s finals.
