Hai Phong, 2 May 2026 – Hanoi Police FC moved one step closer to the V.League 1 title after a convincing 2-0 victory over Hai Phong FC in Round 21 of the 2025/26 season. Young striker Nguyen Dinh Bac continued his outstanding form by scoring his eighth goal of the campaign, helping coach Mano Polking’s side tighten their grip on top spot.
Having already secured their survival, Hai Phong entered the match with a relaxed but determined mindset. Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem’s team aimed to test CAHN and delay their title celebrations, causing the visitors some difficulties during the opening stages.
Although CAHN controlled possession and dictated the tempo, Hai Phong defended with great discipline. The home side pressed aggressively and stayed compact at the back, limiting the attacking threat created by Nguyen Dinh Bac, Leo Artur Mauk, Quang Hai, and Van Do. At the other end, Hai Phong also showed confidence whenever opportunities to counterattack appeared.

However, the superior quality of CAHN’s squad gradually made the difference. Their quick passing combinations and fluid movement eventually broke through Hai Phong’s defensive structure. In the 32nd minute, Quang Hai cleverly laid the ball off for Nguyen Dinh Bac, who surged into space in front of goal. After a composed dribble to evade a defender, the young forward fired a low shot past goalkeeper Dinh Trieu to open the scoring.
Conceding forced Hai Phong to push forward in search of an equalizer. The hosts nearly responded in the 39th minute when Huu Son unleashed a dangerous angled strike that narrowly missed the target. But committing more players forward also exposed gaps at the back, and CAHN capitalized before halftime. In stoppage time, Van Do delivered a low cross from the left flank for Adou Minh to tap home from close range, doubling the visitors’ advantage.
The second half saw Hai Phong raise their attacking intensity, creating an open and entertaining contest as both teams traded chances. Despite several dangerous attacking moves from each side, the forwards lacked precision in front of goal. Goalkeepers Dinh Trieu and Nguyen Filip also produced a number of important saves to keep the scoreline unchanged.
With the 2-0 victory, CAHN remain firmly at the top of the V.League 1 table with 54 points, holding a commanding 12-point lead over second-placed The Cong Viettel. Although they have played one match more, with only five rounds remaining, Mano Polking’s side now appear to have one hand on the championship trophy.
