South Korea, 7 July 2026 – The Vietnam national team continued their training camp in Incheon, South Korea, on July 7 as preparations intensified for their second friendly against Yongin FC of K League 2, part of the team’s build-up to the 2026 ASEAN Cup.
The session lasted more than an hour and focused primarily on attacking organization and transitional play. Training intensity remained high, while data collected through the team’s GPS monitoring system showed encouraging improvements in the players’ fitness levels and physical output after nearly a week of training in South Korea.
Speaking before the session, midfielder Do Hoang Hen shared his thoughts on settling into life with the national team. The 1994-born player said he has quickly adapted to the squad and feels both comfortable and honored to be part of Vietnam’s preparations for the regional tournament.
“I’m very happy to be here with the Vietnam national team. The ASEAN Cup is a very important tournament, and everyone is working hard every day to prepare in the best possible way,” Hoang Hen said.
The midfielder also expressed his determination to make a meaningful contribution and help Vietnam retain their Southeast Asian title.
“Representing Vietnam is a tremendous honor for me. I’ll always do my best to contribute to the team, and I hope we can win the 2026 ASEAN Cup together.”
Asked what had impressed him most since joining the squad, Hoang Hen highlighted the team’s unity and strong sense of togetherness.
“The atmosphere within the squad is fantastic. Everyone supports one another, and we’re all united with the same goal of performing well and defending Vietnam’s ASEAN Cup title.”
Having spent several years competing in V.League 1, Hoang Hen said his familiarity with many of the current internationals has made his transition much easier.

“I’ve played alongside many of the players before, including Dang Van Lam, Nguyen Xuan Son, and several Hanoi FC players. That has helped me settle in quickly, and I’m really happy to be playing with them again.”
Earlier on July 7, the coaching staff held a tactical meeting to review footage from Vietnam’s 6-0 victory over Siheung FC. Head coach Kim Sang Sik and his assistants analyzed both the team’s strengths and the areas requiring improvement as they prepare for the next challenge.
Vietnam will face Yongin FC on July 8 in their second friendly of the South Korea training camp. The K League 2 side is expected to provide a tougher test than Siheung FC, giving Kim Sang Sik another valuable opportunity to evaluate his squad and further refine his tactical and personnel plans ahead of the 2026 ASEAN Cup.
