Hanoi, 19 August 2026 – Hundreds of football fans gathered outside the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) headquarters in Hanoi on the morning of August 19, hoping to secure tickets for the highly anticipated ASEAN Cup 2026 semifinal second leg between Vietnam and Malaysia.
Although the VFF did not officially open its gates for direct ticket sales until 9:15 a.m., many supporters had already arrived almost an hour earlier. Fans endured the hot weather while waiting in long lines, with some even bringing small chairs to make the wait more comfortable.
Only one entrance was opened to serve ticket buyers, while security personnel were deployed to maintain order around the area. With demand extremely high, the crowd outside the VFF headquarters on Le Quang Dao Street became congested at times.
Despite the conditions, supporters remained patient, determined to get their hands on tickets for the decisive match at My Dinh National Stadium and cheer on Kim Sang-sik’s side in person.
Tickets Quickly Sell Out
The direct sale followed two previous rounds of online ticket distribution and provided supporters with another opportunity to purchase tickets through an official channel.
Four ticket categories were available, priced at VND 300,000, VND 500,000, VND 700,000 and VND 1 million. Each buyer was permitted to purchase a maximum of four tickets.
With demand far exceeding supply, the available tickets were quickly sold out.
For those who succeeded, the long wait proved worthwhile. Many supporters celebrated after securing their tickets and expressed excitement at the prospect of joining thousands of fans inside My Dinh to support Vietnam.

Ticket Resellers Target Buyers Outside VFF Headquarters
However, unofficial resellers were also active outside the sales area.
Some supporters were approached immediately after purchasing their tickets and asked whether they were willing to resell them. Tickets were then offered on the secondary market at prices several hundred thousand dong above their official face value.
Compared with the period before the VFF opened direct sales, black-market ticket prices appeared to have cooled slightly. Nevertheless, inflated prices remained common as demand for the semifinal continued to surge.
The VFF has advised supporters to keep their tickets secure after purchasing them. Organizers also warned that spectators who fail to comply with stadium regulations may be denied entry without receiving a refund.
My Dinh Set for Huge Semifinal Night
Interest in the match has intensified following Vietnam’s impressive performance in the first leg.
The Golden Star Warriors defeated Malaysia 2-0 in Kuala Lumpur, giving Kim Sang-sik’s team a significant advantage heading into the return fixture.
With a place in the ASEAN Cup 2026 final within reach, excitement among Vietnamese supporters has reached fever pitch.
Vietnam and Malaysia will meet again at 20:00 on August 19 at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, where the hosts will look to protect their two-goal advantage and complete the job in front of a passionate home crowd.
