Kuala Lumpur, 6 June, 2025 – On the afternoon of June 6, Coach Kim and Vietnam national team has arrived safely in Malaysia and were warmly welcomed.
The Vietnam team was thrilled to see a large number of Vietnamese fans, living and working in Malaysia, who came to the airport to greet them. The warm affection from the fans is an invaluable source of motivation, boosting the morale of Coach Kim Sang-sik and his squad.
The Vietnamese community in Malaysia, as well as fans back home, will help the players feel confident, playing with unwavering determination to secure 3 points in the upcoming match at the Bukit Jalil cauldron on June 10.

Before the team departed, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) had meticulously prepared for the trip. Mr. Doan Anh Tuan, the Director of the National Teams Department, arrived in Malaysia a day earlier to work with the host country’s organizing committee, reviewing the schedule and actively managing the welcoming process at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Additionally, the VFF proactively sent a letter to the Football Association of Malaysia, requesting maximum support for the team regarding immigration procedures. The Vice President, Tran Anh Tu, also took on the role of Head of the delegation. As a result, Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team did not face significant delays during the process and smoothly traveled to their base in Petaling Jaya.

After settling into their accommodation, the entire team had lunch and took some time to rest and recover. According to the plan, the Vietnam national team will hold their first training session in Malaysia at 6:00 PM on the same day, beginning their tactical and physical preparation for the match against Malaysia, which will take place at Bukit Jalil Stadium at 9:00 PM local time on June 10.
