Hanoi, 1st July, 2025 – The 11 best players selected for the V-League 2024/2025 Team of the Season come from eight different clubs, featuring two foreign players and two overseas Vietnamese (Viet Kieu).
Goalkeeper Nguyen Dinh Trieu (Hai Phong) was a surprise inclusion. After playing 899 minutes, the 1991-born keeper conceded 13 goals, kept 7 clean sheets, and recorded a 68% save rate. Meanwhile, Tran Nguyen Manh (Nam Dinh) had the best stats with 12 goals conceded, 11 clean sheets, and a 71% save rate. Nguyen Filip (Hanoi Police FC) also impressed with 13 goals conceded, 9 clean sheets, and a 77% save rate.
Right back Bui Tien Dung (The Cong Viettel) ranked 21st in total minutes with 1,823. Despite The Cong conceding 29 goals—eighth most in the league—his consistent play earned him a spot, especially in a position lacking standout performers. Teammate Truong Tien Anh, who had 8 assists, also had a strong season.
Left back Jason Quang Vinh Pendant (Hanoi Police FC) was the third most-used left back with 2,076 minutes in 24 matches, behind Mai Sy Hoang (Hong Linh Ha Tinh – 2,082 mins) and Duong Van Khoa (Binh Dinh – 2,145 mins). The French-born Viet Kieu brought stability to a defense that conceded only 23 goals, third-best after Nam Dinh (18) and Ha Tinh (20).
Center-back Adou Minh Leygley (Hong Linh Ha Tinh), another French-born Viet Kieu, played 1,980 minutes—sixth among center-backs—but his partner Helerson often drew more praise. The Brazilian led all center-backs with 2,189 minutes and was crucial in Ha Tinh’s record of 15 draws and just 20 goals conceded.
Nguyen Thanh Chung (Hanoi FC) was 19th in center-back minutes with 1,576 across 19 matches. Despite this, he was the most consistent defender for Hanoi FC, ahead of Dao Van Nam, Kyle Colonna, and Do Duy Manh. With Thanh Chung on the pitch, the team conceded only 14 goals in 19 matches.

Midfielder Caio Cesar (Nam Dinh) was among the league’s best central midfielders, helping secure the title. He played 1,809 minutes in 21 matches, scored 2 goals, and provided 2 assists. Alongside Romulo, he helped control the midfield throughout the season.
Nguyen Quang Hai (Hanoi Police FC) led all central midfielders in minutes with 2,103 from 25 matches. The 1997-born star contributed 3 goals and 8 assists—joint-second in the league—only behind Khuat Van Khang (The Cong). Quang Hai was the most productive Vietnamese midfielder in goal contributions.
At Hanoi Police FC, Quang Hai’s contributions were complemented by Alan Sebastiao (14 goals, 5 assists) and Leonardo Artur (10 goals, 6 assists).
Nguyen Hai Long (Hanoi FC) played as a right midfielder, scoring 5 goals and adding 2 assists over 1,269 minutes in 22 matches. While explosive in the first half of the season, he lacked consistency in the latter stages and was more effective as an impact substitute.
Nguyen Van Vi (Nam Dinh) was the league’s most effective left winger, with 3 goals and 4 assists in 1,482 minutes over 25 matches. Used higher up the pitch by coach Vu Hong Viet, he formed a strong duo with left back Nguyen Phong Hong Duy.
Nguyen Tien Linh (Binh Duong) was the league’s top Vietnamese scorer but missed out on the Golden Boot due to a statistical error that denied him a goal. He scored 45% of Binh Duong’s goals, with a ratio of one goal every 150 minutes, ranking 5th among players with over 10 appearances.
Alan Sebastiao (Hanoi Police FC) was crowned Best Player and Top Scorer with 14 goals in fewer matches than Lucao (Hai Phong). Alan led the league with a scoring rate of 0.78 goals per match and one goal every 112 minutes, while also recording 5 assists.
Nguyen Xuan Son’s early-season injury opened opportunities for others, but before getting hurt, the naturalized Brazilian forward had 7 goals in 7 matches—one every 82 minutes.
Coach Vu Hong Viet (Nam Dinh) became the sixth coach in V-League history to win back-to-back titles, joining legends like Arjhan Srongngamsub (HAGL 2003–2004), Henrique Calisto (Long An), Le Thuy Hai (Binh Duong), Nguyen Thanh Son (Binh Duong), and Chu Dinh Nghiem (Hanoi FC).
Initially doubted due to Rafaelson’s influence in the first title, coach Viet proved his credentials by leading Nam Dinh to even greater success after Xuan Son’s season-ending injury from round 9 onward.
Nam Dinh set multiple records: longest unbeaten streak (15 matches, rounds 12–26), longest winning streak (7 matches, rounds 20–26), most wins (17), fewest losses (3), most goals scored (51), fewest goals conceded (18), and most clean sheets (11).
