Kuala Lumpur, 7 August, 2025 – Vietnam’s U17 women’s national team has received a favorable draw for the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, where they will compete against Hong Kong and Guam in Group D.
The official draw ceremony, conducted by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on August 7, placed Vietnam in one of the five three-team groups. A total of 27 teams will participate in the qualification stage, divided into eight groups — three with four teams and five with three. The winners of each group will advance to the final tournament, joining the four teams that have received automatic qualification: North Korea, Japan, South Korea, and China. These four nations previously secured their spots based on their participation in the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Group D, featuring Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Guam, is seen as a manageable draw for the young Vietnamese squad. With home advantage — as the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) was selected by AFC to host one of the groups — the team will aim to maximize their chances of advancing to the final round.
The qualifying matches are scheduled to take place from October 13 to October 17, 2025. The final tournament is set to run from April 30 to May 17, 2026.
With the benefit of playing at home and facing relatively balanced opponents, Vietnam’s U17 women’s team is well-positioned to make a strong push for a spot in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
