Ninh Binh, 16 August, 2025 – Defending V.League 1 champions Nam Dinh have officially unveiled their latest high-profile signing, confirming the arrival of South African international Percy Tau. The club announced the news with excitement: “Welcome South African star Percy Tau Muzi to Thep Xanh Nam Dinh.”
Born in 1994, Tau is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most talented forwards. Known for his dazzling dribbling skills often described as “magical,” the winger brings flair, creativity, and vast international experience to the reigning champions.
Tau’s career highlights include spells in some of the world’s toughest leagues. He previously played in the English Premier League with Brighton & Hove Albion, represented Club Brugge and Anderlecht in Belgium, starred for Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly, and most recently featured for Qatar SC. His résumé also boasts appearances in prestigious competitions such as the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League.
On the international stage, Tau has been a key figure for the South African national team, earning 52 caps and scoring 16 goals. According to Transfermarkt, the 30-year-old attacker is currently valued at around $1 million. His arrival is expected to bolster Nam Dinh’s already fiery attacking style and provide an extra spark in their quest to defend their domestic crown while also making an impact on the continental stage.
Adding intrigue to the move, Tau will reunite with his South African teammate Blom, who is already part of the Nam Dinh squad. Their chemistry could prove valuable as the team enters a demanding season both in Vietnam and abroad.
This signing comes shortly after Nam Dinh’s official season launch ceremony, where head coach Vu Hong Viet reiterated the club’s ambitions: “Last season, Nam Dinh received immense support from provincial leaders, Xuan Thien Group, and our passionate fans. That support gave us the strength to succeed and secure the V-League title. For the 2025/2026 season, we promise to keep fighting with all our hearts in every match, representing the pride of Nam Dinh sports. Our goal is to achieve the best possible results not only domestically but also internationally.”
With Percy Tau now part of their arsenal, Nam Dinh have signaled serious intent to remain at the top of Vietnamese football while making waves on the continental scene.
The champions will kick off their V-League 2025/2026 campaign this evening (August 16) with a highly anticipated clash against Hai Phong at Thien Truong Stadium, kicking off at 18:00.
