Bangkok, 20 December 2025 – The host nation organized the SEA Games 33–2025 closing ceremony in a simple and dignified manner, delivering words of thanks and appreciation to the coaches, athletes, and members of all participating delegations across the region.
After a vibrant musical opening performance, the sports delegations paraded around the Rajamangala Stadium, receiving warm applause from spectators in the stands. During the parade, the master of ceremonies announced the full list of 54 official sports contested during the Games.
Following 11 days of official competition across venues in Bangkok and Chonburi, athletes from participating countries completed 573 events in 54 sports at SEA Games 33–2025. This edition was widely regarded as a successful Games for the host nation, as Thailand returned to the top of the overall medal table.
At the closing ceremony, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Artthakon Sirilatthayakorn, delivered the official closing speech, congratulating the achievements of coaches and athletes from all Southeast Asian nations and highlighting the spirit of unity and sportsmanship that defined the Games. After highlights from SEA Games 33–2025 were shown on the main screen, the SEA Games flag was formally handed over to Malaysia, the host of the 34th SEA Games in 2027. The ceremonial extinguishing of the SEA Games flame then took place, marking the official conclusion of SEA Games 33–2025.
