Ly Thi Luyen agreed to joins Thailand women’s volleyball national league

Bangkok, 18 February 2026 – Vietnam women’s volleyball continues to expand its international presence, with another player set to compete in Thailand’s national league shortly after the Lunar New Year 2026.

Middle blocker Ly Thi Luyen has reached an agreement to join Nakhon Ratchasima Qmin C VC, a club currently competing in the Thai National Volleyball Championship. Her managing club in Vietnam confirmed the move, stating that Ly Thi Luyen will play for the Thai team starting from Phase 2 of the season. She is scheduled to travel to Thailand in March to begin her short-term contract.

Despite her overseas commitment, Ly Thi Luyen will still be available to compete in Vietnam’s National Championship 2026. According to her club representatives, her contract with Nakhon Ratchasima Qmin C VC will conclude on April 5, allowing her to return in time for the first phase of the domestic league, which will take place from April 6 to April 19 at Dong Anh Indoor Stadium in Hanoi.

With this transfer, Ly Thi Luyen has become one of the first Vietnamese volleyball players to secure an overseas contract in early 2026. Previously, the former national team player also gained valuable international experience in Mongolia, where she helped Hobby Ace finish as national runners-up — marking both her debut season in the country and her first silver medal abroad.

Vietnamese women’s volleyball currently has several top players competing internationally. Star outside hitter Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and middle blocker Tran Thi Bich Thuy are playing in Japan, while outside hitter Vi Thi Nhu Quynh is competing in Indonesia. All three are key figures in Vietnam’s national team setup.

The most recent Vietnamese players to participate in Thailand’s national volleyball league before Ly Thi Luyen were Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, and Dinh Thi Tra Giang in 2024, highlighting the growing trend of Vietnamese athletes gaining opportunities in one of Southeast Asia’s strongest volleyball competitions.
