Hanoi, 18 February 2026 – Vietnam women’s national team regrouped in Hanoi on February 18 to resume preparations for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
Following a brief two-day Lunar New Year break, the players and coaching staff returned to the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to continue their training program ahead of the continental tournament. The team had only recently returned home on February 14 after completing an overseas training camp in China.
On the first training day of the new year, Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) President Tran Quoc Tuan visited the squad to offer encouragement and support. He praised the team’s professionalism, discipline, and proactive mindset, recognizing their strong commitment to upcoming challenges.
Ahead of the team’s departure to Australia for the Asian Cup finals, Tran Quoc Tuan urged the players and coaching staff to maintain unity, determination, and thorough preparation in all aspects, including tactics, physical fitness, and mental readiness. He emphasized the importance of delivering strong performances to meet the expectations of fans and continue elevating Vietnam’s reputation in women’s football.
On behalf of the team, head coach Mai Duc Chung expressed his gratitude for the federation’s support, describing it as a meaningful source of motivation at the start of the year. He affirmed that the coaching staff would design the most effective training plans to ensure the players reach peak condition ahead of the tournament.
Team captain and striker Pham Hai Yen also extended New Year wishes to the federation leadership and coaching staff, while reaffirming the team’s determination to train seriously, follow the preparation plan closely, and compete with maximum effort for national pride.
The Vietnam women’s national team is scheduled to train in Hanoi for approximately 10 days before departing for Perth, Australia, on February 27 to compete in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
