At the Asian Shooting Championship 2024 in Jakarta (Indonesia), athletes Pham Quang Huy and Trinh Thu Vinh excellently won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team even

Competing against two Indian shooters, Thu Vinh and Quang Huy performed consistently across the rounds. The Vietnamese pair continuously led 7-1, 9-3, and then approached victory with a 15-5 lead. Although they slowed down later, allowing the Indian duo Arjun Cheema and Rhythm Sangwan to close the gap to 11-15, Thu Vinh and Quang Huy remained stable to reach 16 points, thereby winning a dramatic gold medal, promising a great start for Vietnamese shooting in 2024.

Unfortunately, this gold medal did not secure the Vietnamese pair a spot in the Paris Olympics, as the qualification for this category will be based on individual event tickets for both men and women.

Currently, in the women’s individual event, Thu Vinh has secured an Olympic berth, while Quang Huy was unsuccessful in the qualifiers held on January 8.
