On March 7th, in Tu Son city, Bac Ninh province, a press conference for the Spring 2024 Quadrangular Football Tournament took place. The tournament features participation from four teams: Bac Ninh FC, Youth Cong an Ha Noi, Youth The Cong Viettel, and Youth PVF.
The Spring Quadrangular Football Tournament – Bac Ninh 2024 will kick off from March 10th to 17th. The tournament comprises a total of 6 matches, starting with the clash between Youth Cong an Ha Noi and Youth The Cong Viettel, followed by a match between the host, Bac Ninh FC, and Youth PVF.
The teams will compete in a single round-robin format to determine the standings. The matches will be held at the Tu Son city stadium, which has a capacity of 5,000 seats, and will be open for fans to watch and support their favorite teams free of charge.
This tournament marks the first official appearance of the Bac Ninh Football Club on their home ground. It aims to provide athletes with an opportunity to enhance their skills through competition, exchange, and learning experiences. This is an essential step before participating in the National Division 2 Football Championship, expected to take place at the end of March 2024.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Anh – Deputy Director of the Bac Ninh Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Head of the tournament organizing committee, stated: “The Bac Ninh Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with Bac Ninh Football Joint Stock Company and other units, is organizing the Quadrangular tournament.
In this tournament, Bac Ninh FC will compete against three teams with a tradition in professional football. The purpose is to review the team’s strength and preparation readiness for the upcoming 2024 National Division 2 Championship. Currently, the local organizing committee has been established, and the infrastructure for the tournament basically meets the requirements.”
Additionally, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh – Permanent Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh Football Joint Stock Company, shared: “The head coach of Bac Ninh FC is Mr. Ngo Quang Truong – the former coach of Song Lam Nghe An. The team has also recruited several experienced players who have competed in the V.League, such as goalkeepers Minh Nhut, Hong Son, Quang Tinh, Au Van Hoan, Le Sy Minh, Dao Duy Khanh…”
“Bac Ninh Club is fortunate to have the support of former Vietnam national team coach Park Hang Seo for the next five years, serving as a senior advisor. Mr. Park’s role is to develop a football strategy, advise on youth training, and create resources for the first team, as we aim to systematically build a youth football academy.
Additionally, the professional responsibility of Bac Ninh Club still primarily lies with head coach Ngo Quang Truong,” Mr. Tuan Anh emphasized.
According to the schedule, Bac Ninh FC will have about half a month to prepare before their official debut match at the beginning of April in the National Division 2 Championship.
