This evening (May 20), the Vietnam athletics team competed in the 4x400m mixed relay at the 2024 Asian Relays, delivering an impressive performance against strong international contenders.
The team, consisting of Nguyen Xuan Quang, Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Le Ngoc Phuc, and Quach Thi Lan, secured the bronze medal with a time of 3 minutes 18.45 seconds. This remarkable achievement not only earned them a podium finish but also broke the previous national record of 3 minutes 19.5 seconds, set in the Philippines in 2019.
The gold medal in this event was claimed by the Indian team, who finished with a time of 3 minutes 14.12 seconds. Sri Lanka’s team took the silver medal, clocking in at 3 minutes 17.0 seconds.
Competing against some of Asia’s best athletes, the Vietnamese team demonstrated exceptional teamwork and endurance. Each member played a crucial role in securing this historic result for Vietnam.
