Vietnam’s national women’s futsal team is set to face some of the world’s top teams in a four-nation tournament in China as they prepare for the 2025 Women’s Futsal World Cup qualifiers.
The team officially began their training camp in mid-June, under the guidance of head coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang. Speaking about this training period, Coach Hoang emphasized the goal of the coaching staff to develop and perfect new tactics and playing styles for the team.
After over two weeks of intensive training, the squad, primarily composed of players from the Thai Son Nam Women’s Futsal Club, will travel to China to compete in the 2024 Lanzhou International Women’s Futsal Tournament from July 12 to July 15. In this tournament, the Vietnam Women’s Futsal Team will play against host China on July 12, Iran on July 13, and Uzbekistan on July 15.
Their opponents, China (ranked 25th in the world), Uzbekistan (ranked 24th), and Iran (ranked 8th), are formidable teams that promise to provide stiff competition for Coach Hoang’s squad. These matches will offer valuable experience and preparation for the Vietnam team as they aim for a spot in the 2025 Women’s Futsal World Cup, with the first step being the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Championship scheduled for early next year.
Coach Hoang is optimistic about the team’s prospects and is focused on utilizing this tournament to fine-tune their strategies and gameplay. “Our objective during this period is to build and perfect new tactics and playing styles for the entire team,” he stated, highlighting the importance of the upcoming matches.
