Coach Polking reveals Hanoi Police FC’s goals for the 2024/2025 season

This afternoon (August 20), at the PVF – Ministry of Public Security Football Training Center in Van Giang District, Hung Yen Province, the Vietnam Public Security Sports Association held a grand ceremony to officially send off Hanoi Police FC and PVF-CAND FC as they prepare for the 2024/25 national professional football season. The event also celebrated and honored the achievements of coaches and athletes within the Public Security sports teams and marked the launch of the Public Security Basketball Club and Public Security Pickleball Club.

The ceremony was presided over by Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, and Chairman of the Vietnam Public Security Sports Association. The event drew the participation of senior officials from various ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; the Hanoi Party Committee and People’s Committee; the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee; leaders from the Ministry of Public Security, and directors from the Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hung Yen Public Security departments. Representatives from national sports federations and key partners of the Vietnam Public Security Sports Association were also in attendance.

Hanoi Police FC and PVF-CAND FC Set Sights on Ambitious Goals

For the 2024/25 season, Hanoi Police FC will compete in two domestic professional tournaments: the National Championship (V.League) and the National Cup. Additionally, the club will make its debut in the Southeast Asian Champions League (ASEAN Club Championship), marking the first international competition in the club’s history. Meanwhile, PVF-CAND FC will compete in the National First Division and the National Cup.

In preparation for the new season, both clubs have unveiled their new kits and announced their squads, including the introduction of several new signings. Hanoi Police FC has bolstered its roster with 10 new players: goalkeeper Chu Van Tan; defenders Tran Dinh Trong, Jason Quang Vinh Pendant, and Nguyen Van Duc; center-back Domingo Hugo Gomes; midfielders Vitor Hugo Rosa Nacismento and Le Van Do; and forwards Alan Sebasto Alexandre, Artur De Melo Leonardo, and Nguyen Dinh Bac.

PVF-CAND FC has also strengthened its squad with the signings of goalkeeper Truong Thai Hieu, defender Nguyen Van Dung, midfielder Nguyen Huy Hung, and the Vietnamese-born duo Ryan Ha and Martin Lo. Additionally, the club welcomes the return of Tran Van Hoa and Nguyen Tien Dinh.

A Message of Determination and Gratitude

During the ceremony, Hanoi Police FC’s head coach, Alexandre Polking, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Vietnam Public Security Sports Association and the club’s partners for their unwavering support. He emphasized that the team has undergone rigorous preparations and is fully ready to compete for the highest honors in domestic competitions. “We are determined to achieve the best results in the V.League and the National Cup. Our goal is to bring pride to the club and our supporters,” Polking stated.

Regarding the club’s participation in the ASEAN Club Championship, Nguyen Quang Hai, one of the key players of Hanoi Police FC, spoke on behalf of his teammates, expressing their commitment to performing well on the international stage. “We understand the significance of representing our club and country in this prestigious tournament. The entire team is focused and ready to give our best effort to achieve a high ranking,” Quang Hai said.

Expanding Public Security Sports Initiatives

The event also highlighted the expansion of sports activities within the Public Security forces with the introduction of two new clubs: the Public Security Basketball Club and the Public Security Pickleball Club. These initiatives reflect the Vietnam Public Security Sports Association’s commitment to promoting a wide range of sports and fostering a culture of physical fitness and well-being among its members.
