On September 21, the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025 qualifiers for Group A will begin at Lach Tray Stadium in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The group stage features five teams: U20 Vietnam, U20 Bangladesh, U20 Guam, U20 Syria, and U20 Bhutan.
During a press conference held on September 20, ahead of the tournament’s kickoff, U20 Guam coach Dominic Gadia expressed his sympathy and condolences to the people of Vietnam affected by the recent Typhoon No. 3, which caused widespread damage across the country.
“On behalf of U20 Guam, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the people of Vietnam who have been affected by the recent typhoon,” Coach Gadia stated. “For this tournament, we aim to give our best performance. We have prepared thoroughly, and I hope the team can showcase its full potential.”
In the same press conference, U20 Vietnam head coach Hua Hien Vinh welcomed the visiting teams and thanked the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for granting Hai Phong the opportunity to host Group A of the U20 Asian Cup qualifiers.
“On behalf of the host team, I would like to warmly welcome the four teams participating in the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025 qualifiers here in Hai Phong,” Coach Vinh said. “We are ready for the tournament. With the home advantage, we aim to put on entertaining performances for the fans and strive to earn as many points as possible to qualify for the 2025 AFC U20 Asian Cup.”
The matches in Group A are expected to draw significant attention as U20 Vietnam looks to capitalize on home-field advantage and secure a spot in the prestigious continental competition.
