Ninh Binh women’s volleyball team secured a spot in the final of the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship, along with a berth in the 2024 Women’s Club World Championship.
On the evening of September 27, Ninh Binh faced Kazakhstan’s Kuanysh in the semifinal match of the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship. The winner not only advanced to the final but also earned a place in the prestigious Women’s Club World Championship.
With the stakes high, both teams fought fiercely from the first whistle, contesting every point. In the first set, Kuanysh initially took the lead, but Ninh Binh, led by the outstanding performance of Bich Tuyen, steadily closed the gap. Bich Tuyen’s decisive point sealed a 25-23 victory for Ninh Binh in the first set.
A similar scenario unfolded in the second set, with Ninh Binh once again showing resilience and superior play at crucial moments, winning 27-25 after a mistake from Kuanysh.
In the third set, the Central Asian team regrouped and mounted a strong comeback. Kuanysh’s powerful hitter Sana repeatedly scored, leading her team to a 25-18 win after taking a significant lead at 16-8 and 19-9.
However, Ninh Binh’s composure and experience shone through in the fourth set as they overcame Kuanysh’s attempts to level the score. Key contributions from Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, and foreign player Warisara helped secure a 25-22 victory in the set.
Ninh Binh’s 3-1 overall win officially earned them a place at the 2024 Women’s Club World Championship, set to take place in China in December. The team, led by Bich Tuyen, will face Japan’s NEC in the final of the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship on September 29.
Last year, Vietnam’s national team, competing under the name Sport Center 1, won the Asian Club Championship for the first time, securing their debut appearance at the Women’s Club World Championship.
