Vietnam national team drops in the FIFA rankings for October 2024

In the FIFA rankings for October 2024, Vietnam’s national football team has dropped three places compared to the previous month. Specifically, after their draw against India during the October 2024 FIFA Days, Vietnam fell from 116th to 119th in the world rankings.

This result caused Vietnam to lose 0.27 points, while India gained 0.26 points due to the draw against a higher-ranked team. India’s position improved by one spot, rising to 125th in the world rankings.

In Southeast Asia, Thailand’s national team made significant progress, earning 8.69 points after two victories against the Philippines and Syria. Thailand now holds the 96th position globally.

Indonesia’s team, after losing to China in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, was deducted 5.3 points. Indonesia is currently ranked 130th in the world, narrowing the gap with Vietnam.

At the continental level, Japan remains the top-ranked team in Asia, moving up one place to 15th in the world. Following Japan are Iran (19), South Korea (22), Australia (24), and Qatar (40).

In the overall rankings, Argentina continues to hold the top spot, followed by France, Spain, England, and Brazil. The top 10 teams in the world remain largely unchanged in terms of participants.
