Vietnam national team was without seven players in their training session this morning (November 22), as coach Kim Sang-sik allowed several key players to rest and recover their fitness.
The team conducted their first training session during the November camp to prepare for the 2024 AFF Cup. Although Coach Kim Sang-sik called up 30 players for the training trip in South Korea, only 23 players were present on the training field this morning (November 22).
Among the seven absent players were seasoned names such as Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Ho Tan Tai, and Vu Van Thanh.
Coach Kim Sang-sik gave these seven players the morning session off to rest and recover at the hotel due to minor soreness or muscle tightness. This approach aims to provide the players with the opportunity to recuperate following a strenuous period of competition in professional leagues.
The aforementioned players will have a full day of rest before departing with the national team from Noi Bai Airport to South Korea at 12:30 a.m. on November 23. Depending on their recovery progress, Coach Kim Sang-sik will decide whether these players will participate in the first training session on the evening of November 23 in South Korea.
The Vietnamese national team will spend 10 days training in South Korea. During this period, Coach Kim Sang-sik’s squad will play three friendly matches against progressively challenging opponents, designed to meet the technical requirements of the coaching staff. Specifically, the first match, intended as a warm-up, will be against Ulsan Citizen FC, a K-League 3 team. The next two matches will see the national team face Daegu FC and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC, both of which compete in K-League 1. Coach Kim Sang-sik highly regards these two teams, as they are expected to provide quality tests for the national team.
