Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has officially opened ticket sales for the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 final, scheduled for January 2, 2025, at Viet Tri Stadium.
Despite not yet knowing their opponent, the VFF is moving forward with preparations for what promises to be a historic event. Vietnam secured their place in the final with an impressive 3-1 victory over Singapore in the second leg of the semifinals on December 29, completing a 5-1 aggregate win. Their opponent will be determined on December 30, following the conclusion of the semifinal between Thailand and the Philippines.
Tickets for the final will be available for purchase online from 8 a.m. on December 30. Prices are set at 500,000 VND, 700,000 VND, and 1,000,000 VND, marking a significant increase compared to previous rounds. During the group stage, tickets were priced at 100,000 VND, 200,000 VND, and 300,000 VND, while semifinal tickets ranged from 300,000 VND to 600,000 VND. Fans can purchase up to two tickets using their national ID or passport. The switch to an exclusively online sales model aims to avoid the chaos seen during in-person sales earlier in the tournament, particularly ahead of the semifinals.
Although the VFF has not disclosed the exact number of tickets available, regulations require a portion to be allocated to the organizing committee, broadcasters, sponsors, and both teams. For safety reasons, only about 17,000 fans will be allowed to attend the match, despite Viet Tri Stadium’s 20,000-seat capacity. This marks the first time the stadium will host an international final, a notable milestone for the venue. Originally, the VFF had planned to hold matches at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, but scheduling conflicts with a music event and concerns over the pitch quality prompted the relocation to Viet Tri. The move has proven successful, as the stadium has been filled to capacity for all three of Vietnam’s home matches in the tournament.
Vietnam enters the final in excellent form. In the semifinal second leg, Nguyen Xuan Son and Nguyen Tien Linh each found the net, while Singapore managed a consolation goal from Kyoga Nakamura. This performance marks Vietnam’s third appearance in the ASEAN Cup final in the last four editions of the tournament. With an extra day of rest compared to their opponent and no need for travel, Vietnam has a slight advantage as they prepare for the decisive matches. The team will remain in Viet Tri for training until the first leg on January 2.
The final represents a significant opportunity for Vietnam to claim their third ASEAN Cup title. Fans are expected to show their unwavering support and fill Viet Tri Stadium to capacity as the national team strives to capitalize on their strong home-field advantage in the first leg. The stage is set for an electrifying showdown as Vietnam continues its quest for regional glory.
