After the Tet Nguyen Dan holiday of 2025, athletes from the national sports teams as well as from various provinces and sectors have quickly returned to training, marking the start of a busy and promising new phase. At the Hanoi National Sports Training Center, the weightlifting team has resumed practice with a renewed energy.
The familiar sound of weights dropping and the cheers of athletes filled the training hall as all the lifters reported their numbers to the coaching staff and began their specialized training sessions on February 3, which corresponds to the 6th day of Tet. One athlete, Pham Thi Hong Thanh, expressed her enthusiasm by saying, “I have finished my Tet holiday with my family and now I am very confident for my specialized training program.” For younger readers, this means that after spending happy times with their families during the holiday, the athlete feels ready and strong to work hard and improve.
On the track, the main training groups have also gathered. Before the training session began, Coach Nguyen Manh Hieu and his staff took the time to wish each athlete a Happy New Year and shared high hopes for excellent results in 2025. In the spirit of the season, athlete Quach Thi Lan mentioned that she had kept up her fitness during the holiday by doing personal exercises, making it easier for her to get back into the regular training routine. Keeping fit means staying healthy and strong so that one can run fast, jump high, and enjoy playing sports without getting tired easily.
Training resumed normally across many disciplines. Teams in judo, wrestling, archery, shooting, and boxing have all started their sessions according to schedule. Notably, many wrestlers from the Vietnamese wrestling team returned to the Hanoi National Sports Training Center on February 2, allowing coaches to start the new training programs right away without letting the holiday spirit slow them down. Meanwhile, the national badminton team gathered at Bac Ninh University of Sports and Physical Training, with Head Coach Ngo Trung Dung explaining that their training has already begun as they prepare for important international competitions in 2025, including the SEA Games 33-2025.
At the Da Nang National Sports Training Center, Director Pham Hoang Tung said that all athletes were present as required. Following a New Year motivational meeting, each team resumed their scheduled training routines. At the Can Tho National Sports Training Center, the national swimming team returned with high confidence, jumping into the pool on the very first day of training. In addition, three large centers—the Hanoi National Sports Training Center, the People’s Police National Sports Training Center, and the Army National Sports Training Center—kicked off their training sessions early on February 3. Coaches and athletes from many sports have shown up to the fields, all following the specialized training plans closely.
Director Dinh Van Luyen of the Hanoi center stated, “Our sports teams have returned to training at their designated venues, and now that the Tet holiday is over, coaches and athletes are fully focused on their work.” Similarly, Colonel Ngo Ngoc Quang and Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hai confirmed that all 11 sports under their supervision have resumed training normally. With Tet 2025 behind them, sports authorities across the country are setting the stage for a successful year, as they build strong teams in preparation for the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026.
