Vietnam national women’s volleyball team advances to semifinals of VTV Ferroli Cup 2025

Vinh Phuc, 3 July, 2025 – Vietnam national women’s volleyball team secured the final ticket to the semifinals of the VTV Ferroli Cup 2025 after a commanding 3-0 victory over the U21 Vietnam team in their final group stage match.

There were no surprises in this all-Vietnamese clash as the senior team, fielding their strongest lineup, completely dominated the court. Capitalizing on the U21 side’s weak first-pass receptions, the national team quickly built a significant lead, earning 12 set points. Although the U21 players fought back valiantly to score eight consecutive points, they eventually fell short, losing the opening set 21-25.

The second set was far more comfortable for the senior side. Repeated first-touch errors from the U21 team allowed Vietnam to control the tempo and widen the score gap with ease. The national team closed out the set in dominant fashion with a 25-13 win.

In the third set, it was clear that Vietnam intended to finish the match quickly. With captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy leading the charge, the national team maintained a one-sided pace throughout. Ruthlessly exploiting every opportunity, they wrapped up the set 25-9 to seal the overall 3-0 victory.

With this result, the Vietnam women’s national volleyball team officially qualifies for the semifinals of the VTV Ferroli Cup 2025. Their next opponent will be Chinese Taipei, with the semifinal clash set to take place tomorrow evening, July 4.
