Vinh Phuc, 4 July, 2025 – Vietnam women’s national volleyball team has secured a place in the final of the VTV Cup 2025 following a commanding 3-0 victory over Chinese Taipei in the semifinals, held at Vinh Phuc Stadium on the evening of July 4.
Led by standout performances from Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet fielded his strongest lineup, including Nguyen Khanh Dang, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Nguyen Thi Uyen, and Tran Thi Bich Thuy, to face a well-organized Chinese Taipei side.
Fueled by the passionate home crowd, Vietnam dominated the opening set with aggressive attacks and sharp coordination, securing a convincing 25-13 win.
In the second set, Chinese Taipei showed resilience and even held the lead during the first half. However, the composure of Vietnam’s key players, especially Bich Tuyen, and the overall squad depth allowed the hosts to turn the tide and clinch the set 25-19.
The third set saw a brief resistance from Chinese Taipei, but Vietnam quickly took control and closed the match with a 25-16 victory, sealing an emphatic 3-0 sweep.
With this win, Vietnam advances to the final of the VTV Cup 2025 and will face defending champions Korabelka (Russia) at 19:30 on July 5. The Russian club booked their spot in the final after a hard-fought 3-1 victory over the Philippines in the other semifinal.
This final promises to be a thrilling rematch, as Korabelka had defeated Vietnam 3-0 in last year’s championship match. Vietnam, now in top form and backed by a home crowd, will be aiming for redemption and their first VTV Cup title in years.
