Hanoi, 10 July 2025 – Following a strong end to the 2024/2025 season, Hanoi FC has officially confirmed that Japanese coach Makoto Teguramori will continue to lead the club into the next V.League 1 campaign. The club’s board was convinced by his tactical acumen and leadership, which helped the Capital team finish second in the league, marking the 15th consecutive season they have secured a top-three finish.
The 2024/2025 season was a challenging journey for Hanoi FC, filled with ups and downs. However, under the guidance of Coach Teguramori, the team managed to steady the ship and close the season on a high. His calm and methodical approach not only stabilized performances but also brought a clear tactical identity back to the squad.
In his first stint in charge, Teguramori led Hanoi FC to 9 wins, 2 draws, and only 2 defeats. Under his leadership, the club scored an impressive 29 goals in 13 matches, averaging 2.23 goals per game, while also keeping 4 clean sheets. One of the standout highlights was a 7-match unbeaten run, which earned the 57-year-old the V.League 1 “Coach of the Month” award for April 2025.
Acknowledging his impact, Hanoi FC’s management expressed their desire to extend the partnership with Teguramori into the 2025/2026 season. The Japanese tactician also shared his enthusiasm for continuing with the club, citing mutual respect and shared ambition as key reasons for his decision.
“I truly appreciate the support and affection shown to me by the club’s leadership during my time here,” said Coach Teguramori. “Hanoi FC is a club full of potential, ambition, and hunger for success. Personally, I am someone who is always eager to conquer new milestones, and that’s why I chose to stay. The 2025/2026 season will be a special one, especially as it marks the club’s 20th anniversary. I plan to bring more changes and improvements, and together, we will give our all to achieve the goals we’ve set.”
With a renewed commitment from both the coach and the club, Hanoi FC is aiming to make the 2025/2026 season a landmark campaign in their two-decade history.
