Ho Chi Minh, 30 July, 2025 – On the afternoon of July 30, the Vietnam U23 team safely returned home following their triumphant campaign at the 2025 ASEAN U23 Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia. The squad departed Jakarta earlier in the day and landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) around 5:00 p.m. to be greeted by enthusiastic fans and representatives from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
After a brief welcome ceremony, players from southern clubs quickly dispersed to reunite with their families and rest before rejoining their respective teams to prepare for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, players from northern clubs boarded a connecting flight to Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. The flight experienced a slight delay, landing about 15 minutes later than scheduled, but the players were still met with warm support upon arrival.
For key players such as Dinh Bac and Minh Phuc, who represent Hanoi Police FC, rest time will be minimal. Their club, reigning National Cup champions, will face V.League 1 champions Nam Dinh in the Vietnamese Super Cup on August 9.
Following this short break, the U23 Vietnam squad is scheduled to regroup at the end of August to begin preparations for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, which will kick off in early September.
