Vinh, 23 August, 2025 – Round 2 of the V.League 2025/26 delivered a series of dramatic twists that stunned both experts and fans, proving once again the unpredictable nature of Vietnam’s top flight. The biggest surprise came at Thien Truong Stadium, where reigning champions Nam Dinh fell to Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA).

Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC (formerly Ho Chi Minh FC) suffered their first setback of the season after an encouraging Round 1 win over Hanoi FC. Traveling to Hang Day Stadium, fans expected another spirited showing from Le Huynh Duc’s men, particularly with star striker Nguyen Tien Linh leading the attack. Instead, The Cong Viettel completely dictated proceedings, controlling possession and limiting their opponents to very few clear chances. The 3-0 defeat was a sobering reminder that consistency and balance are still lacking in Ho Chi Minh City Police FC’s game. Improvements in both defense and creativity will be essential if they want to maintain momentum over the long season.
