Hanoi FC continue shake-up after dismissing coach Makoto Teguramori

Hanoi, 24 September, 2025 – Hanoi FC are undergoing further leadership changes following their poor start to the 2025/26 V.League 1 campaign. After parting ways with head coach Makoto Teguramori earlier this week, the capital club has now also made adjustments at the management level.

Hanoi FC have endured a nightmare opening to the season. After four rounds, the club are still searching for their first win, sitting 11th in the standings with just two points — already 10 points adrift of league leaders Ninh Binh.

The disappointing results left the board with no choice but to dismiss Teguramori, who had been expected to deliver success after guiding the team to the V.League runner-up position last season. His departure marks the first managerial change of the new campaign and highlights the high-pressure environment of Vietnam’s top-flight football.

In the aftermath, the club announced that technical director Yusuke Adachi would step in as interim coach. Born in 1961, Adachi is a highly respected figure in Asian football. He previously served as an instructor for AFC Pro License coaching courses and later took on roles in Vietnam, including as technical director for the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and at club level with Binh Phuoc (now rebranded as Dong Nai), before joining Hanoi FC in June 2025.

But the shake-up has not stopped at the dugout. Hanoi FC also confirmed a change in the position of team manager. Le Trong Thuy has officially been registered as the new team manager, replacing Dao Viet Anh. The decision signals a clear intent from the club’s leadership to revamp its structure in hopes of sparking a turnaround on the pitch.

The timing of these changes comes as Hanoi FC prepare for a crucial fixture in Round 5 of the V.League. They will host Thanh Hoa at Hang Day Stadium, in what is widely seen as an opportunity to claim their first victory of the season and relieve some of the pressure surrounding the team.

The clash against Thanh Hoa is not only important for points but also for morale. Hanoi FC’s players will need to adapt quickly to Adachi’s methods, while the leadership reshuffle is expected to bring renewed discipline and focus within the squad. With the title race already opening up, Hanoi FC cannot afford to slip further behind if they want to remain in contention this season.

The coming weeks will be decisive for the capital club as they look to rediscover the form that once made them one of the most dominant teams in Vietnamese football. All eyes will be on Hang Day Stadium to see if the changes can spark a much-needed revival.
