Hanoi, 22 October 2025 – Ahead of the third group-stage match of the AFC Champions League Two 2025–2026, head coach Alexandre Polking affirmed that Hanoi Police FC (CAHN) are fully focused on securing all three points when they host Macarthur FC of Australia on October 23 at 19:15, aiming to consolidate their position at the top of Group E.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, coach Alexandre Polking made clear his team’s ambitions, emphasizing that a victory over Macarthur FC is essential for Hanoi Police FC to strengthen their chances of advancing. “Our goal is very clear — to win all three points. This is a difficult group, and if we want to progress far in the AFC Champions League Two, we must win this crucial match,” Polking stated.
The Brazilian-German coach acknowledged the strength of their Australian opponents but expressed confidence in his team’s preparation. “Macarthur FC are a strong side with great physical fitness, effective wing play, and a fast tempo. Since the group draw, I have discussed with Stephan Mauk, a player who previously played for them, to better understand their style. We have prepared our tactics carefully, and the home advantage will allow us to impose our rhythm,” he added.
Currently leading Group E, Hanoi Police FC enter the match with high morale after solid performances in their first two games. The team’s organized defensive structure and quick transition play have been central to their early success in continental competition.
Defender Hugo Gomes, one of CAHN’s key players, echoed his coach’s confidence while highlighting the team’s disciplined mentality. “We’re different from Nam Dinh — we don’t rely on as many foreign players. However, Hanoi Police FC approach every competition with the same high standards of consistency and unity. Every match matters, and we strive to avoid dropping points because even one loss can affect the team’s mentality,” Gomes said.
Under Polking’s leadership, Hanoi Police FC have shown improved cohesion and attacking fluency, blending experienced domestic players with foreign reinforcements. The clash against Macarthur FC is expected to be one of the most competitive fixtures of the group stage, as both sides possess technical quality and tactical discipline.
A victory on home soil would not only help Hanoi Police FC maintain their lead in Group E but also boost their confidence ahead of the second half of the group campaign. The match will kick off at 19:15 on October 23 at Hang Day Stadium, where fans are expected to turn out in large numbers to support the Vietnamese representatives in their continental quest.
