Ly Thi Luyen joins Mongolian club Hobby Ace for 2025–2026 season

Mongolia, 22 October, 2025 – Vietnamese volleyball player Ly Thi Luyen, a key middle blocker for Hoa Chat Duc Giang Lao Cai, has officially reached an agreement to join Hobby Ace Club of Mongolia for the 2025–2026 season, marking her first overseas stint.

Shortly after completing the 2025 Vietnam National Volleyball Championship with Hoa Chat Duc Giang Lao Cai, where her team finished in fifth place, middle blocker Ly Thi Luyen has confirmed her move abroad to play for Hobby Ace, one of Mongolia’s top volleyball clubs. The deal will see her compete from November 1, 2025, to February 7, 2026, as part of the team’s push for the national title.

Last season, Hobby Ace finished fifth in the Mongolian league, and for the upcoming campaign, head coach Wanki Cho from South Korea has strengthened the squad with key international signings — including Ly Thi Luyen — to bolster their championship ambitions.

Born in 1999, standing 195 cm tall, Ly Thi Luyen has long been regarded as one of Vietnam’s most promising middle blockers. She has played a crucial role for Hoa Chat Duc Giang Lao Cai in domestic competitions and has also represented the Vietnam national women’s volleyball team on several occasions, earning praise for her height, blocking ability, and quick transition play at the net.

According to sources from her club, both sides are finalizing the necessary administrative procedures before the official transfer. Ly Thi Luyen is expected to fly to Mongolia on October 28, giving her four days to adapt and train with her new teammates before Hobby Ace’s first match of the season.

Thanks to the recently concluded domestic season, the 26-year-old middle blocker remains in excellent physical condition and match rhythm, which will help her integrate quickly into the Mongolian league.

Her move marks another milestone for Vietnamese women’s volleyball, as more players are now receiving opportunities to compete in professional leagues abroad — following the footsteps of captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy in Japan. With this new challenge in Mongolia, Ly Thi Luyen is expected to continue developing her skills while showcasing the growing quality of Vietnamese volleyball talent on the international stage.
