France, 23 October 2025 – After a three-week training program in France, the Vietnam women’s 4x400m relay team has returned home with positive progress and improved form, aiming to defend their gold medal at the upcoming SEA Games 33 in Thailand this December.
Vietnam women’s 4x400m relay team officially concluded their training camp in France and is set to return home on October 22. The three-week program, which began in early October, focused on refining technical execution, enhancing physical conditioning, and building team cohesion ahead of major regional and continental competitions.
The training group included head coach Nguyen Thi Bac and athletes Nguyen Thi Hang, Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh, and Nguyen Thi Ngoc. “The training sessions were well-organized and effective. Over the past three weeks, each athlete has improved key performance aspects and accumulated valuable experience. We will continue working under our established plan once back in Vietnam,” a team representative shared.
This training initiative was part of a cooperation agreement between the Vietnam–France Friendship and Cooperation Association, the Francophone Sports Association, and the Vietnam Sports Administration (Cuc TDTT). Vietnamese track and field athletes were among the first to benefit from the program, which aims to strengthen professional ties and assess the effectiveness of international training opportunities in France.
According to Nguyen Duc Nguyen, head of the Athletics Department under the Vietnam Sports Administration, the camp provided meaningful improvements both physically and mentally. “The athletes have shown enhanced morale and confidence. We expect them to perform at their best and defend the gold medal at the upcoming SEA Games 33 in Thailand,” he said.
Throughout the training camp, detailed performance data was sent weekly to the Vietnam Sports Administration and the national athletics department for evaluation. While the specific figures remain confidential for professional reasons, coaches confirmed notable progress in fitness and technical efficiency.
The women’s 4x400m relay team has been one of Vietnam’s most successful athletics squads in recent years. They won silver at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships with a time of 3:34.77, and before that, claimed gold at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia with 3:33.05. In 2024, the team also set a new national record of 3:30.81, winning gold at the 1st Asian Relay Championships held in Thailand.
With just over a month remaining before the SEA Games 33 begin, the coaching staff and athletes are intensifying their preparations to ensure peak performance in December. The goal is clear — to maintain Vietnam’s dominance in the women’s 4x400m relay and continue affirming the nation’s strength in regional athletics.
