Chengdu, 18 November 2025 – After a focused training session on November 17, U22 Vietnam are determined to create an upset against U22 South Korea in the final match of the CFA Team China – Panda Cup 2025.
U22 Vietnam resumed full training on November 17 after a recovery day consisting of gym and light sessions at the hotel, as the team prepare for their final match against U22 South Korea at the international CFA Team China – Panda Cup 2025. After two rounds, the team of coach Dinh Hong Vinh earned a 1-0 victory over hosts China and narrowly lost 0-1 to U22 Uzbekistan in a match where U22 Vietnam showed strong determination and created several chances but lacked accuracy in the final moments.
The training session on November 17 took place in a disciplined but relaxed atmosphere. The coaching staff adjusted the workload to ensure optimal physical readiness while maintaining full concentration ahead of the crucial final round. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh had previously emphasized that facing U22 South Korea — a team known for physical strength, speed and a modern style of play — is an important opportunity for U22 Vietnam to further assess their squad, accumulate experience and refine tactical systems before entering the decisive preparation period for SEA Games 33 and the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026.
The match between U22 Vietnam and U22 South Korea will kick off at 14:30 (Vietnam time) on November 18. One of the key sources of motivation for U22 Vietnam heading into this encounter is their most recent meeting with the Korean side. In March 2025, U22 Vietnam produced an impressive performance to hold U22 South Korea to a 1-1 draw, also at a CFA tournament organized by the Chinese Football Association. That result serves as proof that with proper preparation, careful opponent analysis and strong fighting spirit, U22 Vietnam have every reason to believe they can create a surprise in the upcoming showdown.
