Nagoya, 24 November 2025 – Vietnam women’s national team earned a comfortable 3-0 victory over Aichi Toho University on November 24, marking a positive start to their training camp in Japan ahead of SEA Games 33.

On the afternoon of November 24, the Vietnam women’s national team played their first friendly match during their training camp in Japan, facing the women’s football team of Aichi Toho University. This is an important step in the team’s preparation for SEA Games 33, where coach Mai Duc Chung aims to finalize tactics, test personnel changes and evaluate the overall readiness of the squad.

Vietnam entered the match with good control and discipline, taking the initiative from the opening minutes. The players maintained high tempo, pressed aggressively and created several scoring opportunities against the Japanese university team. Despite a number of promising attacks in the first half, the match remained goalless going into the break, prompting the coaching staff to make adjustments in the second half.

Those changes paid off almost immediately. In the 53rd minute, Bich Thuy broke the deadlock with a decisive finishing touch inside the box. Just three minutes later, she struck again, doubling Vietnam’s lead with another clinical effort. The two quick goals helped the team settle comfortably into their rhythm, while giving coach Mai Duc Chung valuable insight into his attacking combinations.

Vietnam continued to rotate the squad to test different options. In the 69th minute, substitute Thai Thi Thao made an instant impact, scoring just two minutes after coming on. Her composed finish inside the area sealed a 3-0 victory for the Vietnamese side. Throughout the match, the team maintained attacking pressure, showcased solid defensive organization and demonstrated encouraging cohesion despite continuous lineup changes.

The 3-0 win marks a strong start to Vietnam’s training programme in Japan. Over the next days, the team will continue to train intensively and play additional friendly matches to refine their tactical approach before returning to Ho Chi Minh City at the end of the month. From there, they will depart for Chonburi, Thailand, to officially enter the competition at SEA Games 33 with the goal of reclaiming the gold medal.
