Chonburi, 3 December 2025 – The Vietnam women’s national team completed two training sessions on December 3 in Chonburi, focusing on physical conditioning and tactical preparation as they gear up for SEA Games 33. Young midfielder Nguyen Thi Kim Yen expressed excitement ahead of her first SEA Games appearance.
On December 3, the Vietnam women’s national football team continued their training programme in Chonburi, Thailand, as the squad aims to fine-tune their form and readiness for the upcoming SEA Games 33. The coaching staff maintained a detailed and balanced workload for the players, ensuring every individual is in peak condition before entering the tournament.
During the morning session, the team worked on strength and endurance drills intended to maintain optimal physical levels ahead of the competition. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to tactical elements, particularly organisation in attacking and defensive phases as well as small-group coordination. The atmosphere throughout the day remained positive, with players demonstrating strong concentration and determination as they pursue their targets at this year’s SEA Games.
Among the standout personal stories in the squad is young midfielder Nguyen Thi Kim Yen, who is making her first appearance at a SEA Games. Clearly excited, she shared her feelings about being part of the historic journey. “I am very happy and excited to be included in the squad this time. In the past, when I watched the older sisters compete, I always hoped that one day I could take part in at least one SEA Games,” she said.
Kim Yên acknowledged that the call-up is a significant milestone in her career, and she expressed her desire to contribute whenever given the opportunity. “If I am on the pitch, I will try my best to bring the best results for the team,” she noted. She also highlighted how much she has learned from the experienced players around her, adding that the team’s spirit after the first training session in Chonburi is extremely positive and everyone is prepared for the challenges ahead.
Looking ahead to the opening group-stage match against Malaysia, Kim Yen affirmed the collective focus of the squad. “The whole team is preparing carefully, not being subjective, and aiming for three points. I hope the fans will continue to follow and support us. We will give everything on the field to achieve the best possible result,” she said.
