Top youth academies set to clash at U19 national championship – Modern Cup 2026

Hanoi, 9 January 2026 – The final round of the 2025–2026 Vietnam U19 National Championship promises high-quality competition, featuring leading youth teams such as The Cong Viettel, PVF, and Hoang Anh Gia Lai as Vietnamese football continues to invest strongly in its next generation.

On the morning of January 9, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) officially announced the main sponsor and conducted the draw for the final round of the 2025–2026 Vietnam U19 National Championship – Modern Cup. Speaking at the ceremony, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu highly appreciated the sponsor’s long-term support for Vietnamese football, particularly at youth level. He emphasized that the partnership goes beyond financial backing, helping to spread positive competitive values and motivate young players as they strive to prove themselves and contribute to the future of Vietnamese football. According to him, this cooperation reflects a strong, effective relationship built on a shared goal of developing Vietnamese youth football in a professional and sustainable direction.

Under the competition schedule, the final round will take place from January 14 to January 27, 2026, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. A total of 12 teams have qualified for the finals, including The Cong Viettel I, PVF, PVF-CAND (hosts), Hanoi FC, Song Lam Nghe An, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, TPHCM FC, SHB Da Nang, Dak Lak, Cong an TPHCM, and Dong Thap.

At the draw ceremony, the organizing committee divided the 12 teams into three groups of four. Each group will play a single round-robin format to determine the standings. The three group winners, the three runners-up, and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarter-finals, ensuring a highly competitive race for knockout qualification.

Group A features PVF-CAND, The Cong Viettel I, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, and Dak Lak. Group B includes Cong an TPHCM, TPHCM FC, PVF, and Hanoi FC. Group C brings together Song Lam Nghe An, SHB Da Nang, Dong Thap, and Hoang Anh Gia Lai. With many of Vietnam’s strongest youth academies represented, the 2025–2026 U19 National Championship finals are expected to deliver intense competition and serve as an important platform for identifying future stars of Vietnamese football.
