Hanoi, 1 February 2026 – Head coach Gerard Albadajejo strongly criticized Malaysian referee Razlan Joffri Bin Ali, who was assigned to officiate the headline clash of Round 12 in the LPBank V.League 1 2025/26, blaming the official’s decisions for his team’s defeat to the hosts.
In the final match of the round, Hanoi Police FC staged an impressive comeback to defeat Ninh Binh FC 3-2, thanks to a stunning hat-trick from striker Alan. The victory lifted Hanoi Police FC to the top of the league standings.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Albadajejo clearly showed his frustration. He even slammed his hand on the table while responding to reporters’ questions.
“The referee ruined the match with confusing decisions that went against our team,” he said bluntly.
“This was a game between the two teams at the top of the table — it felt like a final for the first half of the season. But a Malaysian referee destroyed it. I simply don’t understand.”
“For a match of this magnitude, a Vietnamese referee would have been fully capable of taking charge and doing the job well. I truly believe that.”
His comments reflected the heated nature of the contest, which carried major implications for the title race.
On the other side, Hanoi Police FC players celebrated a hard-fought victory. Speaking in a quick post-match interview, Vietnam U23 international Nguyen Dinh Bac admitted there were mixed emotions but emphasized the importance of the result.
“Of course, there are some regrets, but what matters most is that the whole team won. I’m very happy about that,” Dinh Bac said.
“Today, all the Hanoi Police FC players fought bravely. We absolutely deserved this victory.”
However, the young forward remained cautious about the bigger picture.
“I think it’s still too early to talk about the championship. Hanoi Police FC focuses on each match and takes it step by step.”
With the comeback win, Hanoi Police FC not only claimed three crucial points but also sent a strong message to their rivals in the title race, while Ninh Binh were left frustrated, feeling that refereeing decisions had cost them dearly in one of the season’s most important encounters.
