Coach Park Hang Seo could join South Korea at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Hanoi, 2 April 2026 – According to Xportsnews, coach Park Hang Seo could be involved with the South Korea national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off this June.

The signal emerged after the former Vietnam head coach took on the role of team manager during South Korea’s European friendlies in the March FIFA Days, including matches against Ivory Coast and Austria. Although the results were not as expected, experts still praised his contributions in connecting and supporting the coaching staff led by Hong Myung Bo.

Park Hang Seo is highly respected in South Korean football thanks to his experience as an assistant to Guus Hiddink at the 2002 World Cup, where South Korea reached the semi-finals. His close relationship with Hong Myung Bo further strengthens the possibility of him taking on an important role at the 2026 World Cup.

From 2017 to 2023, Park Hang Seo led the Vietnam national team to numerous titles and historic achievements at both regional and continental levels, gaining valuable experience in managing teams under high-pressure environments.

However, according to Xportsnews, the Korea Football Association has not yet made an official decision. The report added that chairman Chung Mong Gyu is also a candidate for the team manager role, similar to the position he held at the 2022 World Cup.
